THE MIDDLE EAST:

Middle Eastern Council of Shopping Centers (MECSC), 2002 to present - CJFMI Founder and President Carolyn Feimster was a guest speaker and conducted both a general session and a six-hour workshop on tourism development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2002. Returned February, 2003, to conduct a two-day seminar, "Beyond Tenant Rent - Non-Traditional Revenue Sources to Increase Profits for Shopping Centers." Taught the Level I and II marketing courses for MECSC/ICSC - May, 2004 and June 2007. Hired by the MECSC to present a two-day seminar in Dubai and Kuwait on "Developing an Effective Shopping Centre Marketing Plan". CARIBBEAN:

Empresas Fonalledas (owners of Plaza Las Americas and Plaza Del Caribe in Puerto Rico) - 2005 - Presented a one-day seminar on "Capitalizing on the Lucrative Tourism Market" which focused on specific tactics that could be implemented by each of the shopping centers.

The Riffort Village - 1998-2001 - Advised on the merchandising plan, leasing strategies, development issues and operational challenges for an entertainment/retail project that is part of the renovation of a 200 year old fort in downtown Willemstad, capital city of Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles.

Curaçao Action Group - Created the Downtown Management Organization to manage the affairs of the approximately 250 stores in the retail district and tourist destination of Willemstad, Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles, as part of the overall island effort to improve the economy by making tourism the number one industry. The assignment included writing the business plan, developing sources of funding from both the private and public sectors (NAf950,000 = U.S. $527,777), hiring the staff and implementing the initial phases of the program.

Downtown Management Organization - Responsible for the coordination, planning and supervision of programs of this management organization for the downtown retail district of Willemstad, Curaçao. Membership included over 100 retailers as well as many of the country's leading businesses. Specific issues included research projects, maintenance improvement programs, merchandising, security, marketing activities, beautification efforts, merchant development, interfacing with tourist boards and the cruise ship industry, supervising and training marketing director, comprehensive business development program, five-year business plan and re-merchandising program.

Meta Corporation, Aruba - Developed a plan integrating a hotel, retail and casino complex into one concept that included physical improvements, organizational changes with the management structure and a marketing/image program to operate more efficiently.

Redondo Corporation - Assisted with the development, writing and editing of a leasing brochure for a specialty center in Puerto Rico.

ASIA AND SOUTH PACIFIC:

International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) - Asia Division, Fall, 2006 - Conducted a full-day seminar on Capitalizing on the Lucrative Tourist Market in Taipei, Taiwan.

The Araneta Group in the Philippines, 2001 - Provided staff with a two-day seminar on developing a marketing plan and advised on general marketing issues prior to the expansion and renovation of their shopping and entertainment complex.

International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), 2003 - Spoke at the Asian Pacific Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, on “Trends in Tourism.”

Merlin International Properties - Consulting assignment at Darling Harbourside, a festival marketplace in Sydney, Australia. Reviewed the annual marketing program and assisted in the development of the grand re-opening.

General Growth Properties (formerly The Rouse Company) 2004 - Participated in a sales mission event in Mexico City for tour operators and media to roll-out the Club Estrellas Program.

ICSC, 2003 - Conducted seminars on tourism development in Buenos Aires and Cordoba, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay.

ICSC, 2003 and 2004 - Taught for ICSC the School for Professional Development, Levels I and II in Mexico City.

Natick Collection, Boston, 2007 to present - Developing the Tourism Marketing Plan for this luxury center undergoing a major renovation. Will implement the program.

Harborplace & The Gallery, Baltimore, 2006 - Trained the Marketing Manager in Tourism and conducted training seminars for the merchants.

Intrawest/Sandestin Resort, Sandestin, FL, 2007 - Researching and developing a report and power point presentation for ownership and the merchants to determine the economic impact from new competition being developed and to give recommendations.

North Star & Shops at La Cantera, San Antonio, 2006 - Conducted merchant training programs. Bay Harbor Islands Development Association, Miami, FL 1998 - 2004 - Researched, wrote and received approval by the Town Council for the economic development plan for the Village of Bay Harbor Islands in order to determine the appropriate mix of businesses to expand the tax base. Implemented the plan with the Development Association and worked towards forming a special taxing district. Implemented the town’s first Sister City International Program. www.ilovebayharbor.com

The Forbes Company – Mall at Millenia, Orlando, FL 2002-2003 - Researched and wrote the tourism marketing plan and provided advice on plan implementation. Represented the shopping center at La Cumbre, a Latin American Travel Trade Show and worked with the tourism manager.

SEC Commercial Realty 1999-2001 - Provided advice on the marketing of Loehmann’s Fashion Island, a specialty center in Aventura, FL.

Mall Properties - Provided a seminar on "Capturing the Travel & Tourism Markets"

Swerdlow Real Estate Group 1998-2000 - Oversaw the marketing of Las Olas Riverfront, a downtown retail/entertainment project in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Also, represented the company’s premier shopping center, the Dolphin Mall in Miami, to tour operators and wholesalers in the Destino Show in Sao Paulo, Brazil; POW WOW; and other shows.

Enterprise Development Co. (Founded by James W. Rouse upon retirement from the Rouse Co.) - Consulting assignments included working directly with the on-site marketing directors for the Waterside, Norfolk, VA; The Shops on Harbour Island, Tampa, FL; and McCamly Place, Battle Creek, MI. Developed the pre-opening marketing plan for the expansion of the Waterside, Norfolk, VA and The Shops at Liberty Place, Philadelphia, PA. Provided advice on marketing issues for international projects such as Tempozan Marketplace in Japan.

Constellation Properties, The Exchange At Church Street Station Orlando, FL - Developed a re-merchandising program in concert with the marketing program to maximize profits for the 78,000-square-foot specialty retail component to Church Street Station in Orlando, Fla. Emphasis was placed on jointly promoting The Exchange with downtown Orlando and other adjacent retail complexes.

Disney Development Company - Implemented a mystery shopper program and store analysis to improve retail productivity by focusing on customer service.

Shop America Alliance - Represented this group of over 300 shopping centers at overseas travel trade shows. Presently sit on their Advisory Board.
